One of the most anticipated fights of 2025 is now just weeks away from lighting up Madison Square Garden.

Islam Makhachev has caught fans by surprise after showing off a clear size increase as he prepares to make the jump up to welterweight.

On November 15, the former pound-for-pound king will challenge Jack Della Maddalena for the gold in the UFC 322 main event.

It is not far away now, with another exciting bout recently added to an already stacked card at one of sport’s most iconic venues.

As the event approaches, Della Maddalena and his camp have also had some words of wisdom come their way from an unexpected source – a former champion with plenty of experience under the bright lights of MSG.

Conor McGregor reaches out to Jack Della Maddalena ahead of UFC 322

Della Maddalena’s training camp for UFC 322 has been boosted by the presence of grappling coach Craig Jones.

Jones, who previously helped Alexander Volkanovski prepare for Makhachev, recently claimed he is doing the UFC a favour by assisting in the Australian’s preparations.

The jiu-jitsu coach, highly respected in the MMA world, did not offer public advice this time, but passed along a message from Conor McGregor.

In an Instagram video, Jones shared that McGregor had sent some encouragement to the defending welterweight champion ahead of his title defence.

‘JDM’ and his team appreciated the support from ‘The Notorious’ as they gear up for what is the most important fight in his career so far.

“He will be light work at this weight. No finishing capability or positional awareness whatsoever. He is a backpack at best. Nothing to fear. Fear not! Patience, fitness, and ferocity, and he is sparked unconscious inside the 5.”

McGregor weighs in on White House UFC return vs BKFC debut

Ariel Helwani caught up with McGregor for a documentary on BKFC, where the topic of whether he would rather debut in bare-knuckle or fight at the UFC’s planned White House event came up.

“I’m coming back with the White House. I’m having fun with all of this, but I’m under no illusion… my comeback for mixed martial arts is paramount for me.”

The conversation also touched on potential opponents, with ‘The Notorious’ making it clear he still wants to face Michael Chandler – a matchup that feels like it has been talked about forever without any real movement.
