Conor McGregor has begun to prepare for his UFC comeback at the White House next year, but isn’t sure if a Michael Chandler fight is still on.
The duo have been officially matched since they agreed to coach opposite each other on The Ultimate Fighter back in 2023. They filmed an entire season together before eventually agreeing to fight the following June at UFC 303, but that bout was canceled due to a broken toe for the Irishman.
Since then, a date has eluded both men and Chandler has lost his two efforts at competing in the interim. They both seem keen on a meeting at the UFC White House event next summer, but McGregor is now saying he just wants a fight, whether it’s against his long-time rival or not.
After what will be almost five years out of action following a gruesome broken leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, Conor McGregor is raring to go for his return. He has already begun the early stages of a training camp despite having around seven months to fight night.

And speaking with Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat at his Dublin hotspot The Black Forge Inn this week, he noted that he isn’t being picky about anything as long as he gets to fight. “The White House is on,” he assured fans.
“We’re just waiting for full confirmation, I assume around February they’ll come reaching out and matchmaking and all that. That’s what they say. So I’m just staying ready in the gym two times a day.”
While McGregor has maintained for years that he wants to fight Michael Chandler given their history, he is also eager to just get in the cage. And he noted that as long as the name comes with a UFC fight contract, he will be inclined to sign up.
