Cyborg Submits Collins To Retain Featherweight Title

Cris Cyborg retained her PFL Women’s Featherweight Championship by submitting Sara Collins in the co-main event of PFL Lyon in the third round.

The fight was competitive, with Collins staying resolute until Cyborg’s class ultimately showed. Collins utilized a varied attack early on, landing leg kicks and timing Cyborg with her jabs as she closed the gap. Despite Collins’ efforts to control the range, Cyborg pressed forward. Collins scored a clean takedown in round two only for Cyborg to try submission attempts on her back to drain Collins’ energy reserves. Collins secured another takedown in the third as she started to gain some momentum. Just when Collins found some success, Cyborg managed to reverse the position on the mat and immediately take Collins’ back. From there, Cyborg secured a dominant position and locked in a choke, forcing Collins to tap out. The result was just the second time in her career that Cyborg has ended a fight via submission.
