Dana White was stunned when Kevin Holland’s long winning streak ended in March 2021.

‘Trailblazer’ won five consecutive UFC bouts to put himself in the Fighter of the Year conversation in 2020.

However, Kevin Holland‘s impressive run came to an abrupt end against long-time middleweight contender Derek Brunson, who easily outwrestled the talkative American in the UFC Vegas 22 main event.

The UFC 316 star asked for advice from Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was sitting cageside during his bizarre performance against Brunson, which left UFC CEO Dana White worried that one of his fighters had suffered a mid-fight meltdown.

Dana White’s strong reaction to Kevin Holland losing

Kevin Holland is known for trash-talking in the Octagon, but he took it to another level at UFC Vegas 22.

Post-fight, the UFC CEO expressed deep concern about Holland’s mid-fight antics.

“I think that was a mental breakdown,” White told Yahoo! Sports.

“The only other thing I saw like it was when Lennox Lewis fought that guy [Oliver McCall] who kept his hands at his side and was crying.

“I don’t know what he was doing. I think he might not have been able to handle the pressure and just broke mentally.

“I haven’t seen anything like that.”

What’s next for Kevin Holland?

Kevin Holland has lost eight of the 14 fights he’s had since falling short against Derek Brunson.

In March, he outpointed Gunnar Nelson to get back in the win column at UFC London.

The 32-year-old will look to make it two in a row against welterweight veteran Vicente Luque this weekend.

They’ll square off on the undercard of Merab Dvalishvili vs Sean O’Malley 2, which takes place in Newark, New Jersey, on Saturday night.
