Dana White: Military makes up majority of fans at White House UFC gathering

Dana White has made it clear that the crowd for UFC White House isn’t going to be filled with MMA fans.

Tickets for the event, hosted at President Donald Trump’s residence, are not up for sale. Instead, the UFC CEO will distribute them to members of the armed forces in recognition of their service.

Dana White addressed how tickets would be handled for the event during an appearance on FOX News Channel’s My View with Lara Trump.

“Well, your father-in-law, he wants this to be mostly for the military,” the UFC boss said on Sunday. “So there’s going to be 4,300 people there. I just literally went over it right now, 4,300 people, and most of them will be military.”

For those who want to watch in person, the Ellipse across the street from the White House is hosting a public viewing of sorts for the event. It can seat up to 85,000 fans and is totally free if you register.

“Across the street is the Ellipse,” he added. “For those who don’t know, the Ellipse is a massive park that’s literally, you’ll be able to see the fight from the Ellipse. But we have screens, we’ve got stages, we have music, we have activations over there.

“We’re going to give away about 85,000 tickets. And there’s a process. You have to register for tickets, and they’re free.

“But you should come to Washington, D.C. that week, the week of the fight. We’re going to be doing all kinds of things, in D.C. for fans. It’s really a cool city. Probably most people have never been. If you’re a UFC fan, this is absolutely positively the time to come to D.C.”
