Dana White has addressed the rumors about Conor McGregor’s potential comeback.
The former dual-weight champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Earlier this week, Conor McGregor seemingly confirmed a rumor about his imminent return to MMA.
Conor McGregor suggested he’s going to headline International Fight Week in July.
Dana White provided an update on his biggest star’s comeback at UFC Seattle on Saturday night.
The UFC CEO insisted that nothing is official as he spoke with optimism about the situation.
“Possibly,” White said when asked if McGregor is fighting in July.
He added: “Nothing’s done. Nothing’s even remotely close to being done.
“I am [optimistic]. I was pretty optimistic at the end of last year.
“So, at the end of last year and going into this year, I’m still confident.”
Conor McGregor has been sparring with 6ft 5in welterweight Eoin Sheridan in recent months.
The 4-0 PFL fighter provided an update on McGregor’s comeback camp in a recent interview with Bloody Elbow.
“I’ve been training with Conor for years now,” Sheridan said.
“We’ve sparred in the past, and he’s always been a great help in my career.
“It’s good to see him back. It’s good to see him training hard. As always, it’s gonna be a major fight once he’s back.
“To be honest, he’s looking as sharp as ever in training. I’ve watched a few of his spars, and obviously, I’ve been in sparring with him.
“You know, a UFC champion doesn’t forget how to fight. It doesn’t matter how long they’re out.
“He’s fit now, and he’s working hard, so the next fight will be one to watch, for sure. I can’t say too much about opponents, but there is definitely talks that he will be returning in the summer, so I look forward to seeing that.”
