UFC CEO Dana White has once again sparked conversation. This time, it’s not about fight cards or business and legal moves involving Zuffa Boxing, but about his personal health routine. White recently revealed that he completed an 86-hour fast, claiming it left him feeling “like a superhero” while also promoting what he describes as significant long-term health benefits.
Speaking about his experience, White explained that the fast began immediately after the UFC Vegas 114 event on Saturday. He said he stopped eating on Saturday night and continued until Wednesday morning, consuming only water. Sharing before-and-after images, White pointed to noticeable physical changes and emphasized how energized he felt at the end.
“I just got done fasting for 86 hours...feel like a superhero. I feel incredible, and I want to tell you how I did it,” White said. Further, in the video, White explained, “I don’t know if you’ve seen this online, but it’s called the 70-hour water fast, and doctors have done studies on this, and this thing is legit.”
Beyond just the physical transformation, White claims this fasting method helps reduce the risk of serious illnesses. “It gives you an over 70% chance of not getting cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other nasty diseases.” While White’s methods might sound and feel unconventional to many, he claims they help increase longevity and improve health.
Outside the UFC, Dana rarely shares details of his personal life. Apart from his workout routine and health-related tips, he recently shared a funny anecdote from his life.
When ‘The Boss’ first decided to enter and understand the fighting business, he met a person named Peter Welsh, who had good connections inside the boxing world. “I wanted to get into the fight business, and it was a guy named Peter Welsh,” White explained. “Very famous, not just for boxing but street stuff.”
While White just wanted to gain deep knowledge about the sporting business and stayed close to Welsh for this, his wife had a different theory in mind. Dana White revealed that Welsh’s wife misunderstood him for an FBI agent. Talking about the hilarious incident, White said, “It’s funny…His wife would always tell him, ‘You know he’s a fed. Where’s he come from? It’s all weird.’”
Peter Welsh’s wife’s suspicions still amuse Dana White to this day, especially since he had no secrets or plans as she believed. The lady had little idea that this man would soon move on to lead the biggest MMA promotion ever.
