The UFC’s live weigh-in show is usually a mix of fighter updates and lighthearted banter, with Daniel Cormier, Laura Sanko and the rest of the crew trading jokes, playing trivia and keeping fans entertained between the serious business on the scales.
But this time, the laughter came at Cormier’s expense. In a moment that caught him completely off guard and maybe even got under his skin, the broadcast team pulled a prank that hit a little too close to home, featuring none other than his longtime rival and arch-nemesis.
The production team rolled a video showing Cormier doing everyday stuff — tossing a ball around, shadowboxing and more, but with a twist. It was styled like a commercial for a fake medicine called “No Jones.”

The mock ad joked about a condition called “Jon Jones Brain,” where someone can’t stop thinking about Jones, and claimed this miracle pill could cure it. The not-so-subtle jab, of course, was aimed at DC, hinting that Jones lives rent-free in his head. Whether that’s true or not is up for debate, but judging by his reaction, Cormier definitely wasn’t amused.
Cormier thinks the UFC’s newest addition might have had Olympic gold around his neck if life had gone differently.
This Saturday at UFC 319, Cormier will be calling the action alongside Joe Rogan and Jon Anik, with all eyes on the middleweight title clash between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev. But DC is just as eager to watch the co-main event, where former Bellator standout Aaron Pico makes his UFC debut against Lerone Murphy.
Pico, now 28, was a teenage phenom in both boxing and wrestling before turning to MMA in 2017. He even reached the Olympic Trials final while still in high school, falling just short of making the U.S. team. Cormier says that if Pico had stayed on the wrestling path, he’s confident the Californian would be an Olympic champion today. For DC, Pico’s athletic accomplishments are “unbelievable,” and he believes the newcomer still has massive potential in the UFC.
