Daniel Cormier responds to fans claiming Rousey vs Carano Netflix card is better than UFC White House

The UFC legend doesn’t think there is any chance that the Netflix MMA card is better than the UFC White House event.

Earlier this month, the premier MMA promotion finally announced their full UFC White House card after months of speculation.

Fans weren’t exactly pleased with the six-fight card, which will be headlined by Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje, with Alex Pereira competing for the interim heavyweight title in the co-main event.

Fortunately for MMA fans, though, the historic White House event isn’t the only big event to look forward to, as Netflix will host its first ever MMA event this May 16, headlined by Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano.

In the past few weeks, it has been announced that both Francis Ngannou and Nate Diaz will be competing on the Netflix MMA card too.

That now means that three of the five biggest stars in the sport will be competing on a non-UFC event, which is quite a substantial milestone in the sport.

And because of that, fans have been claiming that the MVP MMA card is good enough to compete with the UFC’s event at the White House.

UFC legend Daniel Cormier, though, doesn’t think the Netflix card is anywhere near as strong as the milestone UFC event.

“The third fight is what might have gotten me most excited. Mike Perry and Nate Diaz,” Cormier said in a recent video on his YouTube channel.

Mike Perry hasn’t competed in MMA since 2021 and Diaz hasn’t fought in the sport since 2022 when he beat Tony Ferguson.

“The best fighters are in the UFC, make no mistake about that. But why would that excite me? Because of the names, and because you know what it’s going to bring. You can have fights, and you can have matchups that are great on paper, but the whole thing leading is a bit (lackluster).”
