These two had one of the most heated feuds in UFC history.

Jon Jones has long been a polarizing figure in the mixed martial arts world, and among those who are certainly not fans of the Rochester native is Daniel Cormier.

The pair shared the Octagon twice and built up significant animosity. While years have passed since they last collided and Cormier has transitioned to commentary, that has not stopped them from going back and forth on occasion.

‘DC’ recently had some words for ‘Bones’ surrounding his trip to Chechnya. While Jones is targeting a UFC comeback at the White House in 2026, he visited Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader who has been accused of multiple human rights violations and sanctioned by the United States government.

Daniel Cormier thinks Jon Jones should be somewhere other than Chechnya

Jones became the latest in a slew of UFC stars to controversially associate themselves with Kadyrov.

In addition to his connections with Chechnya’s Khamzat Chimaev and Dagestan’s Khabib Nurmagomedov, Kadyrov has also hosted Kamaru Usman, Justin Gaethje, and Henry Cejudo in the past.

Many in the MMA community have been questioning Jones’ trip to the region, marking the latest controversy to arise from his life away from the cage.

Cormier was among those commenting on the visit, but he took issue with it for a different reason.

In a comment on an ESPN MMA Instagram post that showed Jones eating Chechen food, his bitter enemy questioned why he was in Chechnya rather than with family during the holiday season.

“Why is Jon Jones not with his family on Thanksgiving holiday?”

Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov is another old rivalry brewing once again

Recent comments from Jones and Cormier show that there is still no love lost between the two former light heavyweight opponents. But they are not the only old rivals bringing their hostility back to the surface.

Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor in 2018 to emerge victorious from their bitter grudge match, which was preceded by plenty of controversial trash talk from the Irishman.

The humiliating loss did little to stop him, and ‘The Notorious’ is still at it over seven years later.

McGregor mentioned Nurmagomedov’s late father in his latest comments, as he berated ‘The Eagle’ for selling digital papakhas, a scheme the Dublin native described as a ‘scam’.

The retired lightweight legend soon hit back, calling McGregor a “drug addict” and inviting him to his rehabilitation center in Dagestan.
