Darren Till and Mike Perry have had words for each other over the years, but they’ve never had the chance to settle things inside a ring or cage.
Till and Perry have been circling each other since their days in the UFC, often hinting at a potential fight that never came together.
Since then, Perry has become one of the faces of BKFC, while Till has stepped into the world of Misfits boxing.
There was another chance for them to meet when Till signed with BKFC. But before anything could happen there, Perry took on a different opponent in David Feldman’s promotion.
Till stopped Luke Rockhold at Misfits 22 back in August, pushing his unbeaten run in the promotion to 3-0. That turned out to be his last fight with the organisation as he decided to move on to other opportunities this year.
Earlier this month, Till signed with BKFC, bringing him under the same banner as Perry, who holds the ‘King of Violence’ title within the promotion. But their potential fight is still being delayed, as ‘Platinum’ gears up to make his return to MMA instead.
But even with both fighters now signed to BKFC contracts, a potential clash remains on hold while Perry prepares for a return to MMA.
“He’s ran,” Till said during a recent interview with MMA Junkie. “He’s running toward that big dope Nate Diaz on MVP (Most Valuable Promotions).
“I’ve come to BKFC and now he’s run away. Him and his manager need to get a grip of themselves. These two, they’re a pair of bums. Sort your stuff and make the fight with me because I’ll rip him to shreds.
“I hope he will come back,” Till continued. “Honestly, I don’t care about them fighting. A pair of down-and-out bums. Look at them. They’re just slow and old, and their faces are all crusty.”
Perry is set for one of Netflix’s first major live combat events when he takes on Diaz on May 16th in what could be one of the most talked-about fights so far this year.
Till won’t have much time before making his first appearance in bare-knuckle boxing either. His debut has already been confirmed against reality television star Aaron Chalmers, who has previously stepped into the ring with Floyd Mayweather, later this year.
