The duo had been booked to clash in January 2023 after a feud that broke out a year earlier though Danis backed off a week before the contest. KSI also withdrew from a recent bout calling off the event that was scheduled for March 21. KSI dashed the hopes of boxing enthusiasts by disclosing he was too sick to contest.
In a video message posted on social media, KSI said, “I tried my hardest, but my body has legit just given up. I’m currently in bed, taking antibiotics, trying to recover. My sinuses are hurting to the point where I need Ibuprofen every day.”
Elsewhere, during an interview with the CasinoBeats, Dillan claimed that no one knows KSI in the United States.
“Nah, 100% they don’t know him. Because even when I would go to bars or something like that, no one even knows I’m fighting KSI. They would talk about Tony Ferguson. And when I was fighting Logan, definitely people knew about Logan. But out here, nobody knows KSI and they only knew about him when they found out I was fighting him. So, I told him that in the face off. He said he can’t walk in the streets. I said that nobody even knows who you are. But I guess in UK, he’s kinda big, but mostly only with kids,” said Dillan during the interview.
In spite of the drawback, KSI guaranteed fans that he had only deferred the bout, not cancelled it. This isn’t the first time their bout has been delayed.
Instead, the card was suspended in its totally, with Misfits purporting that an update on when the reorganized function will take place will be issued later.
