The UFC White House card was announced, and fans got shocked as Conor McGregor wasn’t in it. Meanwhile, after the White House card, McGregor started hinting that he’ll return during International Fight Week. Adding more hype to that, Dillon Danis says Conor McGregor is coming back even better than before.
The Irish fighter hasn’t fought since his leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Additionally, he was set to return at UFC 303, but a toe injury forced him to withdraw from the fight. But now his ex-teammate Danis says he’s been fully locked in during training. During his recent interview with MMA Fighting, he said:
“To be honest, I would say he’s like the old Conor, but I think he’s better than the old Conor. We text almost every day, FaceTime. The way I’ve been seeing him training, the way he’s taking everything so serious.”
According to ‘El Jefe,’ McGregor has been taking camp really seriously. He also mentioned that ‘The Notorious’ is skipping BKFC events and focusing only on training, something he believes will show when he returns. Meanwhile, his next opponent is expected to be Max Holloway, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Jon Anik believes a fight between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway would be one of the biggest matchups possible right now. He suggested Holloway is the frontrunner to face McGregor next, especially if the goal is to make a massive, fan-friendly fight. In a recent interview with Mike Bohn, Anik said:
“I think Conor McGregor vs Max Holloway is about as big a fight as you can make for Conor when it comes to who is gonna be the fighter to come out of the blue corner. If Conor wants the BMF belt, potentially Charles Oliveira will get the inside track, but right now I think it’s gonna be McGregor vs Holloway.”

The UFC commentator believes that if the Irish fighter goes after the BMF title, Charles Oliveira could be in the mix. But now fans are also buying the hype of ‘Blessed’ facing ‘The Notorious.’ If this fight happens, then it might be bigger than the White House card.
