Merab Dvalishvili retained his UFC Bantamweight Title by making Sean O’Malley tap in the third round of their UFC 316 rematch.

Dvalishvili secured the title by giving O’Malley his second UFC loss at UFC 306 in a unanimous decision defeat. Merab made his first defense by handing Umar Nurmagomedov his first loss in another decision victory.

O’Malley later had surgery on his hip after the Merab loss, saying he was not 100 percent in that fight. He had taken extra steps this time around, training with Demetrious Johnson. O’Malley had reversed his other loss which came against Marlon Vera, but he was unable to do so against Merab. Here is how the fight played out.
