Ex-NFL Star Turned UFC Fighter Josh Hokit Creates One Of The Most Hilarious Weigh-Ins Ever

There is no doubt that Josh Hokit has been one of the funniest fighters around. From delivering speeches like Chael Sonnen to his trash talk and interviews, he never misses a chance to entertain. Hokit simply cannot help himself, and the UFC 327 weigh-ins were no different.

The former NFL fullback walked onto that stage looking like a kid who just got called to the principal’s office. Head down, shoulders up, shuffling out with this completely exaggerated nervousness that had no business being as funny as it was. Indeed, he brought first-day-of-school energy from a grown man about to share a cage with Curtis Blaydes

Hokit has been doing this since he arrived in the UFC. The Chael Sonnen-style speeches, the trash talk, the interviews that go somewhere unexpected every single time. There is no off switch. Most fighters try to seem intimidating during fight week. Hokit is out here playing a character that’s both completely ridiculous and weirdly disarming.

Jiri Prochazka And Josh Hokit Involved In Heated Backstage Exchange At UFC 327 Media Day

The weigh-ins weren’t even the highlight of his week. That came earlier, during UFC 327 media day, when Hokit found himself in a backstage exchange with Jiri Prochazka. The former NFL athlete is threatening to cut Prochazka up and stitch his head onto Alex Pereira’s body. For obvious reasons, Prochazka was unimpressed and kept it short: “Man, stay where you are," (video here; warning: viewer discretion advised).

Inside the cage, he is serious, physical, and built for punishment. Outside of it, he is basically a one-man chaos engine that nobody asked for, but everybody ends up watching. Meanwhile, ahead of Blaydes’ fight, he has surely turned heads and made everyone hooked for his upcoming fight.
