A video has recently gone viral on social media, showing two men fighting at a European pub, with one of them appearing to be Jan Blachowicz getting knocked out by a shorter opponent. The clip has garnered great interest and speculation among fans, making everyone wonder, Is it really Blachowicz?

Fact check on Jan Blachowicz’s knockout

Well, a closer look at the video suggests the allegation is likely untrue. The man in the video appeared to be younger, slimmer, and with definitely less fighting experience and physical presence than a UFC light heavyweight like Jan Blachowicz. The 42-year-old remains active in the UFC and is now training for a significant fight, so now, he won’t be getting knocked out by an amateur when he is all fight-ready.

‘John’ is set to face Bogdan Guskov on November 22, 2025, at UFC Fight Night in Qatar. Both fighters are hoping to make major statements in the light heavyweight division, with Blachowicz ranked #5 and returning from a string of injuries and recent losses. His most recent fight was against Carlos Ulberg on March 22, 2025, at UFC London, where he lost by a close unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring it 29-28.

As for his injuries, he had to undergo surgery to fix both his shoulders, and if his last fight was any indication, he would require some more training to get back to his old fighting rhythm. And that is where his next fight comes in. As he goes one-on-one with Guskov, who is ranked #10 and on a four-fight winning streak, the fight offers him yet another challenge that’ll bring him all the limelight he seeks with one brutal win.

After all, Guskov has KO’d the likes of Zac Pauga, Ryan Spann, and even took out Nikita Krylov in the first round just last month, and also submitted Billy Elekana to prove why he belongs in the top 10 of his light-heavyweight division. Defeating a fighter with such momentum would surely impress Dana White and bring ‘John’ much closer to a title shot. However, for that to happen, he would need a really convincing win while avoiding getting falsely knocked out by random people in European pubs.

How the title picture looks for Blachowicz

With his fight against Bogdan Guskov approaching, Jan Blachowicz hopes to re-establish himself in the light heavyweight division. Following a string of losses and a lengthy injury layoff, a solid performance in Qatar might put him back in line for a UFC title chance. The upcoming UFC 320 title battle between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira makes timing critical, ‘John’ requires a clear win to remain relevant.

Blachowicz is 1-2-1 since losing the belt to Glover Teixeira at UFC 267, with a close decision loss to Carlos Ulberg in London. The defeat made fans question his form, but a convincing victory over Guskov would demonstrate that he still belongs among the division’s top.

Despite being 42 years old, Blachowicz remains ranked fifth, putting him in contention for future titles. With other prominent candidates like Khalil Rountree Jr. and the outcome of Carlos Ulberg vs. Dominick Reyes shaping the next challenger, a win in Qatar might be more than just a comeback; it could be his ticket back to the championship stage.
