The full and final lineup for the MVP MMA event on Netflix has been confirmed, and fans are in for a treat.
Ronda Rousey will be returning to action against Gina Carano on 16 May as part of Most Valuable Promotions’ first MMA card on the streaming platform. The announcement has already generated plenty of buzz, marking Rousey’s long-awaited comeback.
Not long after news of the main event broke, it was revealed that former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou would also be stepping into the cage, set to face Philipe Lins. It’s another big name added to a card already packed with star power.
And if that wasn’t enough, Nate Diaz is making his return against Mike Perry, completing a triple-header that should have plenty of eyes tuned in.
Even with several well-known names featured at the top, there had been some concern that the preliminary bouts might not deliver.
MVP unveiled the full lineup for their debut event on Netflix, confirming the addition of a few more familiar faces. UFC star Muhammad Mokaev, who had hinted at his involvement earlier in the week, was matched up with former ONE Championship flyweight titleholder Adriano Moraes.
Meanwhile, Junior dos Santos was also added to the card and is set to face Robelis Despaigne.
The reaction from fans has been mixed. There were plenty of people interested in Diaz vs Perry but many believed it didn’t offer much outside of that fight:
“I’m sure gonna watch it. Who wouldn’t want to see Diaz vs Perry?” one fan wrote on X.
Another fan posted: “Looks like a juiced up PFL card. Should be fun but let’s not insinuate the UFC fumbled anything anymore.”
One other said: “No amount of gaslighting will make us believe this is a good card.”
Despite all of these negative takes, plenty believed that MVP did just enough for their first event:
This isn’t likely to change anytime soon until their debut event airs and fans can form their own opinions based on what they see rather than promotional posts online.
