Francis Ngannou has recently shared his take on a future bout between Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira at UFC White House: Freedom 250. He believes it will be a tricky bout for the Brazilian MMA icon. Speaking in a recent interview, Ngannou pointed to Gane’s movement and speed as the biggest factors that could affect the fight’s result.

According to Ngannou, who recently left UFC, Gane’s style is built around staying light on his feet and constantly shifting his position. This is something that Ngannou believes will make the fight significantly harder for Pereira. The current and two-time UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, is known to operate best when he can plant his feet and read exchanges. Against someone like Gane, that comfort might not come easily.

“Ciryl Gane moves a lot, he’s fast… It’s going to be very difficult for Alex Pereira to even get close to the distance,” Ngannou explained. He added that Gane’s movement could frustrate Pereira over time, forcing him to chase rather than control the pace.

It’s an interesting assessment, especially considering both fighters bring elite striking credentials in very different forms. While Pereira carries fight-ending power, Gane’s fluid approach and footwork could turn the matchup into a tactical battle rather than a firefight.

Apart from Francis Ngannou, other UFC stars, including former MMA star Alistair Overeem, have discussed this potential bout.

Alistair Overeem Discusses Ciryl Gane vs. Alex Pereira Matchup

Set to take place at the Freedom 250 White House Event, MMA veteran Alistair Overeem sides with Pereira on this one. In a recent interview, he discussed how the bout might look and said Gane is a striker, which Pereira knows how to handle.

“I think for Pereira, the Gane fight is more beneficial. Gane is more of a striker than a wrestler or submission artist like Jon. It’s going to be a great fight and more favorable to Pereira,” Overeem stated.

The MMA world is currently divided on who will win the fight. While some are picking Ciryl Gane as the obvious choice, others believe Alex Pereira will be a better fighter. For now, there’s nothing we can do except wait. One thing is certain, though: the fight will definitely be a good one.
