Gable Steveson reminded the wrestling world just how dangerous he can be with an utterly dominant win over Alexander Romanov in Texas tonight.

The 2020 Olympic gold medalist scored a Tech Fall win over former PFL tournament finalist Romanov with his coach Jon Jones watching from the side. He looked to be moving at a walking pace at times throughout the night, and ultimately got the victory when he decided to move through the gears.

Steveson will now shift focus to UFC 329, where he will make his octagon debut against Elisha Ellison in Las Vegas. He has also made a number of callouts for future RAF Wrestling events, albeit leaving Wyatt Hendrickson’s name out.

Gable Steveson dominates Alexander Romanov in RAF Wrestling debut

It didn’t take long for Gable Steveson to show his class against the UFC and PFL veteran Alexander Romanov on Saturday night. On a night full of champions from the mats to the octagon, there was never going to be anyone else to walk last other than the Olympic champion.

Steveson scored quickly to make it 4-0 within seconds, before the bout was almost stopped due to a shoulder injury Romanov suffered. He managed to soldier on, but only for a few more seconds of action.

Within seconds of round two, Steveson got to Romanov’s back and scored the Tech Fall finish with a final score of 10-0. He was quickly embraced by Jones, who announced that he would also be interested in competing for RAF Wrestling.
