Justin Gaethje has dismissed accusations from Ilia Topuria that he fought with loaded gloves.
The lightweight veteran told fans he has inflicted the same facial damage on every opponent throughout his UFC career, rejecting any suggestion of foul play. "I've done that to everybody's face," Gaethje said, per MMA Mania.
Topuria's claim emerged as the featherweight champion continued building his profile following recent title defenses. The accusation centers on the swelling and cuts Gaethje routinely leaves on opponents, a trademark of his violent striking style since joining the promotion.
Gaethje suggested the conspiracy would be impossible to execute on major fight nights when scrutiny is highest. His response indicates he views the damage as simply the result of his power and technique rather than any equipment tampering.
The lightweight contender remains ranked in the top five at 155 pounds as he awaits his next booking.
