Justin Gaethje is one of the most entertaining fighters in UFC history – and fans can expect more of the same on the South Lawn this summer.

The interim lightweight champion and Duelbits ambassador has won 15 performance bonuses in as many fights since joining the sport’s top promotion. He is an unprecedented two-time interim title holder and also won the BMF belt in 2023.

Now, he gets what is likely his last opportunity to recognize a lifelong dream of winning undisputed UFC gold in one of the most historic and important events of all time; UFC White House. He takes on Ilia Topuria, and has vowed to make it a barnburner as always.

Justin Gaethje promises fireworks in UFC White House main event

Even though it seems that the June 14 event would be a perfect place for Justin Gaethje to hang up his gloves regardless of result, he insists that he is not contemplating retirement. Instead, he is plotting as exciting a night as ever for fight fans watching the outlandish event live.

Speaking with Bloody Elbow via Duelbits, Gaethje noted just how important his role is as the American representative for the two title fights: “I understand what this moment represents.

“Fighting on a stage like that, in front of that kind of audience – it’s an unbelievable experience. I’m proud to represent where I come from, no doubt about that. Every time I step in there, I carry that with me.

“At the end of the day, the best thing I can do for everyone watching is go out there and perform the way I know. That’s always been my approach, giving everything to the fans, to the sport and my family and people.”

Justin Gaethje defends UFC White House card

There have been criticisms about the lack of star power on the event, but it is still a show with a host of major names. And Gaethje believes that it is sure to be a night fans don’t forget whether they are in Washington or watching on Paramount+.

“It’s a stacked card from top to bottom,” he added. “You’ve got a mix of elite fighters, different styles, big personalities… that’s what makes nights like this special. It’s not just one fight that makes people tune in. It’s the whole experience.

“I think every guy on that card understands the opportunity in front of them. Being part of something this big brings out the best in any fighter.

“In the end, I am sure the fans would love the experience and will remember the White House event for a long time.”
