Michael Chandler not only lost his fight against Paddy Pimblett in the co-main event of UFC 314 on Saturday night, but he also left the clash with a lasting memory of his bloody fight.

Pimblett took down Chandler with a third-round stoppage in what was easily the best performance of his career. "Paddy the Baddy" more than lived up to his nickname, as he dominated from start to finish. Chandler was unable to stop Pimblett's all-around attack, even when he resorted to wrestling just to slow him down.

Pimblett's big knee to the face of Chandler at the start of the third round was the beginning of the end for the American fighter. The hit led to an open wound on Chandler's cheek, resulting in a bloody scene as Pimblett took down Chandler and fired a barrage of punches and elbows.

With Chandler unable to do anything but defend, the referee eventually decided to jump in and declare a technical knockout.

The aftermath was even more gruesome, as a photo of Chandler's cut on his cheek—just below his left eye—has since emerged. It has been widely shared on social media, with fans sharing their disbelief of how Pimblett destroyed his opponent.

"This is a brutal fight. Hope he is doing well," a commenter wrote. Another one said in shock, "Paddy the baddy beat the brakes off of chandler tonight."

"Yikes," a follower wrote.

A social media user added, "Absolute mauling from Paddy the Baddie."

"Paddy destroyed Michael," a viewer remarked.

A sixth poster shared, "gonna feel that one in the morning."

It remains to be seen who Paddy Pimblett will fight next after his impressive showing. He did say after his UFC 314 win that he wants to face the likes of Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan.

Regardless of who he fights, though, he certainly showed against Chandler what he's capable of.
