After Khabib Nurmagomedov, Khamzat Chimaev also promoted NFTs and crypto. While Conor McGregor called out Nurmagomedov a scammer, fans began calling Chimaev the same name. And recently, UFC welterweight star Colby Covington went off on the middleweight champ for scamming.
Covington has taken aim at ‘Borz’ with some serious accusations and a challenge. ‘Chaos’ called out the Chechen fighter for a wrestling match and didn’t hold back with his words, accusing him of scamming people and saying fans want to see him get payback. In a recent interview with Helen Yee Sports, the welterweight star said:
“Khamzat is definitely someone I’d like to wrestle on the mats. He scammed all his friends with that memecoin and rug pulled on all his fans. I know the fans want me to get revenge, and they want me to slap him around.”

Meanwhile, Covington has multiple times called out Chimaev for a fight or a wrestling match, and ‘Borz’ has also responded, but the fight hasn’t happened yet. But now the middleweight champ is going to face Sean Strickland at UFC 328. This fight is going to be one of the most heated, as Strickland trash-talks a lot, and Chimaev doesn’t like it.
Colby Covington believes Khamzat Chimaev will have an easy night against Sean Strickland at UFC 328. Despite some MMA stars thinking Strickland has a real chance, Covington doesn’t see it being competitive at all. He thinks Chimaev’s wrestling will completely dominate the fight. In a recent video with N3on, ‘Chaos’ said:
“Not really [the fight doesn’t make sense]. Strickland’s gonna get taken down and beat up – it’s gonna be bad. Khamzat’s gonna beat him up pretty good.”

Fans have previously seen how dominating the middleweight champ is. But now the MMA community is split, some back Chimaev, while others believe Strickland’s style could cause problems. Time will tell who’s going to dominate the fight.
