Israel Adesanya has given his take on the upcoming UFC 322 main event, and he sees things playing out differently than most.
‘The Last Stylebender’ suggests that the welterweight title fight between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev this weekend might hold a surprise for fans.
Makhachev is currently riding a 15-fight win streak and is looking to become a two-weight champion at Madison Square Garden. But Adesanya does not think things will go as planned for him.
Adesanya sees ‘JDM’ stopping Makhachev within the distance at UFC 322.
The former middleweight champion thinks the fight will not go past the second round, backing Maddalena’s power to make a difference early.
On his YouTube channel, ‘Izzy’ said: “Bro, I am not trying to count Islam out, but I know Jack.
“I know that when Jack keeps getting up, it’s gonna be a problem, and Islam’s gonna be forced to strike, and when he is forced to strike with Jack, he’s gonna get hurt.
“In this fight, I really think that Jack Della Maddalena has the skills to stifle Islam’s game and just be able to put it on the feet and knock him out, might be second round, might be third.”
Adesanya’s take on the UFC 322 main event has been doing the rounds on X, and many fans shared their disagreement regarding the prediction.
“While I don’t mind a fighter’s perspective, how often are they right? Hardly ever…including Izzy,” one fan said. While another added: “That’s how you know Islam is winning.”
A third wrote: “A striker complimenting another striker against a dominant wrestler.”
Another replied: “Great fighter, but worst analytical skills.”
“I would agree with Izzy here, but him and Jack are friends, why tf would he not say this about Jack?” a fifth X user posted.
