Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier were beside themselves as they commentated on a completely outlandish prelim fight tonight.
Legendary two-weight world champion Cormier was amazed by the light-heavyweight showdown between promotional newcomer Iwo Baraniewski and Turkish veteran Ibo Aslan. The latter has been signed to the UFC since before his junior had even turned pro, and marked a massive step up in competition.

But in one of the most exciting one-round fights one could ever watch, the pair seemed to drop one another with almost every other punch that landed. And eventually, the Polish power came through as he put down Aslan for good after just 89 seconds.
It was all action from the opening bell as Aslan and Baraniewski began to throw bombs early in their UFC 323 light-heavyweight prelim clash. The unbeaten Polish star faced serious adversity as he was put down, but he also managed to score a knockdown of his own before getting the finish.
Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier couldn’t quite make sense of what they were watching at cageside. The former compared it to a ‘highly skilled bar fight,’ which Baraniewski seemed to appreciate as a compliment during his post-fight interview.
And Cormier noted that it was the ‘most fun he had ever had watching an MMA fight’. He noted that he has only ever seen a more exciting fight outside of a bar when he has had too much to drink, noting that both men went in all guns blazing.
Rogan and Cormier appeared to be giggling through the fight, but it was definitely more in amazement than in mockery of two fearless fighters.
The bout marks Aslan’s third consecutive defeat in the octagon, two of which have come within a round, while the Pole remains undefeated after winning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year.
