In the eyes of Joe Rogan and a whole host of fighters and fans, one Noche UFC star should have a huge scalp on his résumé.
After trips to China and France to close out the August schedule, the UFC is back on United States soil. But the promotion’s next event will celebrate a different country, as the third installment of Noche UFC takes place this Saturday.
Following Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko 2 in 2023 and Merab Dvalishvili’s title win over Sean O’Malley last year, Diego Lopes and Jean Silva are tasked with headlining the latest event celebrating Mexican Independence Day.
A number of other notable names are set to compete at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, including one man many believe beat the fighter who could be next in line to challenge Ilia Topuria.

Jared Gordon will be sharing the cage with one of the Noche UFC event’s Mexican fighters, as he battles Rafa Garcia on Saturday’s main card.
The American has been on an inconsistent run since 2021, winning just three of his seven fights. But things may have played out much differently had he been awarded a victory that many believe he deserved.
In his most high-profile assignment to date, Gordon fought Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282. The pair co-headlined the pay-per-view, which marked the Scouser’s first appearance at a numbered event in the promotion.
All three scorecards went the way of ‘The Baddy’, much to the fury of many in the MMA community who thought ‘Flash’ had done enough across three rounds at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Among the high-profile names to take issue with the judges’ scorecards was UFC star Nate Diaz.
“Bruh? You (Pimblett) lost that fight,” Diaz wrote on X.
And after commentator Joe Rogan’s eye roll inside the Octagon at UFC 282 made it clear what he thought of it, the renowned podcaster later claimed in no uncertain terms that Gordon had been robbed.
“Jared Gordon got f—- and that’s unfortunate,” Rogan said on his podcast. “I don’t like when someone gets by just because they’re famous and they have this big personality, and everybody loves them.”

Rogan and Diaz were far from alone with their bemusement at the result of Pimblett vs Gordon in the UFC 282 co-main event.
Plenty of fans shared similar sentiments online following the widely debated result, with some even going as far as to call the bout “rigged.”
“This was totally rigged.”
“Judges got bought by Las Vegas?”
“Gordon stopped that hype train, Paddy lost it and lost it BIG; awful decision by the judges, they’re ruining the sport.”

“I went in heavily wanting Paddy to win and left absolutely baffled he didn’t lose…”
“I love Paddy as much as the next but I had Jared 2-1 and didn’t think it was very debatable.”
