Conor McGregor’s recent comeback announcement has raised more than a few eyebrows, with plenty of people questioning whether it will really happen.

Earlier this week, McGregor took to social media to say he’ll be back in the Octagon this summer. But given how many times he’s promised a return before, fans aren’t sure what to believe anymore.

The former UFC dual champion hasn’t fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, and talk of his return has come and gone several times over the past few years.

Joe Rogan is looking forward to the possibility of seeing McGregor return to the Octagon.

However, Rogan admits that he’s not sure if McGregor’s latest post really signals a comeback.

“The dude’s one of a kind,” Rogan said on his podcast. “Apparently, he did a post on Instagram saying he’s back. If it’s true, that would be awesome.”

As Rogan read through the post during the podcast, he struggled to understand exactly what McGregor was trying to say.

He followed up with: “How drunk was he when he wrote this?

“Well, I really hope he is actually back. I hope it’s true. It’ll be fun to see him fight a few more times.

Rogan continued: “The greatest personality the sport has ever known. There is no one even close, he is the most dynamic personality the sport has ever known.”

Breaking down McGregor’s latest return announcement

McGregor is well known for making bold statements that don’t always lead to a fight.

Dana White has yet to confirm whether the ‘Notorious’ will be part of this year’s International Fight Week lineup, but fans are already talking about the possibility.

Whether you believe it or not, McGregor has stated his intention to return to MMA this summer.

“The rumours are true,” he wrote on Instagram. “Mr. Confidence returns to save fighting again! Call your grandma! Nanny, we did it!”

McGregor continued in classic fashion:

If he does step back into the Octagon, there’s little doubt that another McGregor fight would attract huge numbers once again.
