Joe Rogan claims that Jon Jones and his athlete brothers inherited their physical gifts from one specific member of the family.
‘Bones’ is not the only top-level athlete in his family. His older brother Arthur and sibling Chandler both played in the NFL and won Super Bowls.
And many have wondered if they could have been champions in combat sports if they had chosen a different path.
All three brothers are well over six feet tall, weighing between 240 and 300 pounds. According to Rogan, Jones once told him that their impressive physical traits came from their grandmother, who was a huge figure in their lives.
Looking at family photos, it is clear the size of Jones and his brothers does not come from their parents. Their mother was fairly average in stature, while their father Arthur Jr. was not particularly tall either.
However, Rogan once mentioned on his podcast that ‘Bones’ attributed his family’s athletic traits to his grandmother. She stood out for her height, which could explain where the family’s physical gifts originated.
Speaking with Andrew Schulz on his own podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, he said:
“They’re huge and their grandmother, Jon told me, is where the genetics come from. He introduced me to his grandma and she’s big, man.”
He added: “She’s a big lady… Jon’s always having a good time, I like how he wears cowboy hats now leaning into it. He’s the sheriff, it’s funny how they were trying to pressure him to fight Tom Aspinall… He’s doing what a pool hustler does if he really thinks he’s fighting in June then he’s already in camp.”
