After nearly three decades in the sport, it is rare for Joe Rogan to come across something he has not seen before.

The veteran commentator began his long association with the UFC back in 1997, quickly becoming one of the most recognisable voices in mixed martial arts.

Fast forward 28 years, and Rogan was once again behind the microphone, this time for UFC 323 in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Joe Rogan turned away from the Octagon after draw

Rogan was left speechless by what unfolded following the opening bout of the UFC 323 main card.

Former UFC light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz, now 42, showed he still has plenty to offer.

But a challenging second round led to a disputed outcome, with the judges scoring his bout against Bogdan Guskov as a majority draw after three rounds of close competition.

Typically, Rogan steps into the Octagon to handle post-fight interviews for UFC pay-per-view events. This time, with no clear winner, security stopped him from entering.

Returning to his seat alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik, Rogan remarked: “That’s never happened,” sounding genuinely surprised during the broadcast.

Joe Rogan reacts to Alexandre Pantoja’s injury

Watching the slow-motion replay of the incident that ended the UFC 323 co-main event was tough viewing for Rogan.

The flyweight champion lost by TKO in just 26 seconds after picking up an arm injury, which made Joshua Van the new champion in the division.

There were early fears that Pantoja had dislocated his elbow during an awkward exchange along the fence, but details later clarified it was actually a shoulder issue.

Megan Olivi provided an update straight from Dr. Jeff Davidson, the UFC’s chief medical officer: “I spoke to the UFC’s chief medical physician, Dr. Jeff Davidson. He told me Pantoja had a left shoulder dislocation with spontaneous reduction.

“What that essentially means is his shoulder was dislocated, but went back into place on its own.

“On Monday, in Florida, he will go for additional imaging to see the extent of the damage or if there is other damage that has been incurred, and then he will meet with an orthopedic doctor as well.”

“It doesn’t even make sense. You saw his elbow literally leave the joint,” Rogan stated.

In his post-fight press conference, Dana White confirmed Olivi’s report.
