Jon Jones Embraces New Nickname Amid Accusations of Ducking Tom Aspinall

Jon Jones is currently the reigning UFC champion after knocking off four-time former heavyweight Stipe Miocic on November 16.

The "Bones Jones" show has continued after a long hiatus with the 37-year-old UFC heavyweight superstar deciding to turn his attention to his training team recently, thanking them for the support and pledging that the "best is yet to come."

Jones, never a stranger toward fans or one to shy away from controversy, has also made waves recently by embracing a nickname given to him by fans for saying that he has been "ducking" Tom Aspinall and other young, hungry challengers for the title he currently holds.

Jones has been called a "duck" for allegedly hand-picking his opponents recently and not acquiescing to their challenges, including the 31-year-old, 15-3 British UFC sensation Tom Aspinall.

Jones retweeted a message on X about how the term "duck" is used to tarnish his legacy the same way fans have done the same with former champions Georges St-Pierre and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Jones has also changed his profile picture to that of a duck wearing a UFC championship belt in recent days, taking ownership of the narrative that social media commenters attempted to use against him.

Jones has fought three times since 2020 against challengers Ciryl Gane, Miocic, and Dominick Reyes, winning all three contests in the Octagon.
