Jon Jones has addressed the public for the first time following the death of his brother.
Arthur Jones, a former NFL player and Super Bowl winner, died on Friday at the age of 39.
A day later, Alex Pereira reclaimed the light heavyweight title he lost in March by knocking out Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320.
After the fight, Pereira dedicated part of his post-fight interview to ‘Bones’ and his family.
‘Poatan’ got the entire crowd at UFC 320 to pause for a moment of silence.
Speaking with Joe Rogan, he said: “We got some news recently.”
“Something has happened, so I wanna give my respect to Jon Jones and his whole family.
“I wanna ask everyone here and everyone at home to take a moment of silence for his brother.”
Touched by the tribute, Jon Jones responded on X with a simple two-word message directed at Pereira: “Wow Alex,” he wrote alongside a praying emoji.

Pereira’s tribute to Arthur Jones did not go unnoticed, with UFC fans taking to social media to praise the gesture.
One fan published: “Pure class”. Another added: “Amazing.”
“Class you like. Well done, Alex,” a third MMA enthusiast posted.
Many others echoed similar sentiments, including one post that read: “Class act from Alex Pereira acknowledging Jon Jones and the passing of his brother Arthur yesterday.”
