Jon Jones' Video With Hasbulla Goes Viral on Sunday

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is once again making the news — but this time, it’s not about fighting. A recent video of Jones playfully lifting internet celebrity Hasbulla Magomedov has gone viral.

The same has stirred up a fresh wave of controversy just as tensions with interim champ Tom Aspinall continue to heat up.

In the video, Jones is seen treating the 22-year-old Hasbulla almost like a toddler, tossing him in the air and smiling as onlookers laugh.

Hasbulla, known for his childlike appearance due to a rare growth condition, has become a popular figure in the fight world, often spotted ringside or in skits with MMA stars.

Some viewers felt the way Jones handled the interaction was condescending — sparking a debate about respect, optics, and intent.

Online, reactions have been seemingly split. Some users saw the moment as harmless fun between two public personalities who are both used to the spotlight. Others felt it crossed a line, given Hasbulla’s medical condition and the sensitivity around how people with dwarfism are treated in the public eye.

“Creepy [expletive]…. The guy is an adult. He’s not a child.….,” wrote @CreationNFT_eth

“I don’t blame him,” wrote @shazadkhan

“Hasbulla trying to fight it because he wants to be treated like a full grown man but you can tell deep down he actually really enjoyed it,” wrote @AlexPhoenix_12

“Surprised hasbulla didnt kick him lol. Little homie be fighting people,” wrote @sufari2_0

This all comes at a particularly sensitive time for Jones, who’s already under pressure from UFC fans and critics over his ongoing standoff with Tom Aspinall. The Brit has been vocal about his frustration, having held the interim title for well over a year with no clear path to unify the belts.

Meanwhile, Jones has cited the need for an extended training camp and proper pay as reasons for the delay.

Dana White recently said the UFC is working toward booking the highly anticipated Jones-Aspinall bout, but no official date has been confirmed.

With the heavyweight division in limbo, this latest media moment is only adding fuel to the fire.
