Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine makes his transition from an MMA career to film, with his debut project ‘Kill Me Again.’

The movie is based on a serial killer, Charlie, who is trapped in a continual time loop, played by Brendan Fehr. Jardine, who also features in the film, pushed himself to the limit, featuring on the 12-night shoot in New Mexico. The film also features ex-UFC women’s flyweight Michelle Waterson and UFC fighters Donald Cerrone and Maurice Greene.

The decision to enter the film industry follows on the back end his pro MMA career. Jardine competed in MMA from 2001 to 2012, ending with a defeat to Roger Gracie in Strikeforce. Jardine ended his career with a 17-11-2 record, including a 6-7 record in the UFC. Jardine also appeared on The Ultimate Fighter in 2005 during the second season of the show, as the ex-fighter was putting himself out there to reach the top of the sport. Jardine looked back at the whole journey with many lessons learned.

Jardine Reacts

“I was always fascinated with the time loop genre, ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ and ‘Groundhog Day’ and all that. Like what can I do? What’s interesting? What’s my flavour on this thing? What if the protagonist is a serial killer? That’s super-interesting. What if we had to walk in the steps of a serial killer through one of his most notorious crimes, and we have to live that over and over and over with him? That was fascinating to me. I knew I had something magical, and I started raising money from then on

“It was a learning process. Every step of the way, from the financing to writing, casting actors to the actual shoot and editing … And now getting the movie sold and set for release.” “My fingerprints are on everything in this movie,” Jardine said
