Ahead of their match up today. Jamahal Hill said that Khalil Rountree wasn’t on his level and that’s something that he truly believes. After two failed attempts to schedule a fight. Each fighter having to withdraw from either a failed drug test( Rountree) or an injury (Hill) these two rivals will finally be squaring off in the Octagon for UFC Fight Night in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Khalil Rountree did an interview with MMA fighting speaking on Hill confidence leading up to their anticipated match up.

“I mean, if I recall correctly, he said the same thing about Alex, and he said the same thing about Jiri and it just didn’t match,” Rountree told MMA Fighting. “What was said just didn’t match. I just try not to pay too much attention to it. I think that, for me, the priority is making sure that I’m at my best when that cage closes and the ref looks over and asks me if I’m ready, and I will say with conviction, ‘Yes.’ And everything else after that is the way that it’s supposed to be.”

“So, yeah, I think if I were to think about it, yeah, I think he truly does believe that he is more skilled. But like I said, I’ve heard it before, and I’m prepared for the for the best version of Jamahal Hill.”

Possible title shot for the winner?

The winner of this fight will find themselves in contention for another title shot. While the loser will probably be eliminated from contention. Both fighters are looking at this fight as a must win. Both fighters have lost to Alex Pereira. Who just recently lost his championship to Magomed Ankalaev. Most believe that he would get the rematch before the winner of Khalil Rountree vs Jamahal Hill could possibly get another title shot.
