The bad blood between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland is getting more intense day by day. Recently, Strickland said he would shoot Chimaev if they had any confrontation during fight week. However, Chimaev’s coach, Alan Nascimento, revealed that “Borz” laughed at “Tarzan’s” comment.

The American fighter dropped multiple comments warning Chimaev and talking tough with gun-related threats. Nascimento showed all the online threats to the middleweight champion, and the Chechen fighter reacted very calmly. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Chimaev’s coach said:

“We showed him what Sean Strickland had been saying. He watched it, laughed, and we went straight to training.”

Chimaev and his team were clearly not taking the 35-year-old too seriously outside the cage. “Borz” had been seen training very hard for the fight, and his teammates believed he could destroy any opponent.

Khalil Rountree Praised Khamzat Chimaev For His Mindset

Khamzat Chimaev was deep in a brutal training camp ahead of UFC 328. As he prepared to face Sean Strickland, UFC light heavyweight star Khalil Rountree believed Chimaev was preparing to run through whoever stood in front of him. In a recent interview with Adam Zubayraev, he said:

“I feel very confident about Khamzat and what he’s capable of against absolutely any opponent, whether it’s Sean Strickland or anybody else. Khamzat goes in there just to devour them all. I’ll be there to witness it, to Khamzat consume his opponents in the cage.”
