ONE Championship closes out its 2025 U.S. primetime schedule with the return of two legendary martial artists at ONE Fight Night 38 on Friday, December 5, from Bangkok, Thailand. British Muay Thai icon Liam Harrison will face Japanese striker Shinji Suzuki in bantamweight kickboxing action, while Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Marcelo Garcia meets Australia’s Lachlan Giles in a lightweight submission grappling showdown.

Striking Royalty Harrison Makes Kickboxing Debut

The 40-year-old Harrison returns to action seeking redemption in ONE Championship following back-to-back promotional losses to Thai legends Nong-O Hama and Seksan Or Kwanmuang. The Leeds-based striker, who trains out of the Bad Company gym, will make his first kickboxing appearance in the organization.

Harrison remains one of the sport’s most respected veterans, having amassed a 92-26-2 striking record throughout his decorated career. The British legend is perhaps best remembered for staging one of Muay Thai’s greatest comebacks against Muangthai PK Saenchai in 2022, demonstrating the heart and determination that has defined his lengthy career.

Despite losing his last two bouts in ONE Championship, Harrison does have some momentum. In his most recent bout, which took place outside of the promotion in March, he finished Isaac Araya to win the WBC Muay Thai Diamond Title.

The transition to kickboxing rules represents a strategic shift for the Brit, as he looks to make a statement against Suzuki. Harrison’s experience and finishing ability make him dangerous regardless of rule set, though the back-to-back losses in ONE Championship have added urgency to his comeback attempt.

Garcia Shares Card with Harrison, Continues Return after Cancer Battle

Harrison may be coming back to ONE Championship’s striking realm, but another legend is ready to make his presence felt in the submission grappling division once again.

The 42-year-old Garcia has captured hearts worldwide with his remarkable return to competition following a year-long battle with stomach cancer. Diagnosed in 2023, the Brazilian legend overcame the disease and returned to submit Japanese icon Masakazu Imanari in his ONE Championship debut at ONE 170 in January 2025.

Widely regarded as the greatest pound-for-pound Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor of all time, Garcia holds multiple ADCC and IBJJF World Titles. His legendary career includes shocking the grappling world by capturing the prestigious ADCC World Championship in 2003 as an unknown competitor, followed by capturing his final ADCC Title in 2011 before stepping away from competition.

Garcia’s clash with Giles promises elite-level submission grappling between two technical wizards who seek positional dominance and finishing sequences. The Brazilian’s inspiring comeback story adds emotional weight to every performance, as he continues competing against the world’s best grapplers.

Legends Harrison, Garcia Deliver Inspiration in Final 2025 US Primetime Event

Both Harrison and Garcia represent the enduring spirit of martial arts, with decades of competition and championship pedigree between them.

Their duo’s at ONE Fight Night 38 provides inspiration for younger competitors while delivering the technical excellence that comes from years of elite competition.

ONE Fight Night 38 airs live on Prime Video on Friday, December 5. The action begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The event is free for all Amazon Prime subscribers in the U.S. and Canada.
