According to boxingnews.com, ‘The Notorious’ could possibly be eyeing a return to the octagon but with one small stipulation.

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor hasn’t been inside of the octagon since his defeat in UFC 264 in July 2021.

He was scheduled to return to the UFC last June but pulled out due to a toe injury.

Most UFC insiders are skeptical that McGregor will ever return to the sport again, including UFC broadcaster and podcast host Joe Rogan.

On Tuesday, McGregor gave the people a glimmer of hope that he may return but it came with a stipulation.

“I’ll only come back to a stadium,” McGregor wrote on X.

In the post, McGregor retweeted a video shared by TKO (TKO Group Holdings) from WWE’s WrestleMania 41 that took place over the weekend at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. TKO Group Holdings owns both UFC and WWE.

A possible venue that could host his return to the sport is Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas adjacent Paradise, Nevada. The stadium boasts 62-acre, ten-leveled dome stadium that seats 65,000 people with an expandable capacity of 71, 835.

Before McGregor could ever make an official return, he would be required to re-enter the anti-doping testing program.

McGregor hasn’t been tested by Drug Free Sport International (DFSI), the agency the fight promotion uses to collect samples, this year. DFSI sends the samples to be tested to World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-accredited Sports Medicine and Research Testing Laboratory (SMRTL).

Fighters are typically required to be in the testing pool for at least six months prior to being issued a license to compete.
