McGregor has a surprise announcement
[NETWORK PROPERTY]-USA TODAY NETWORK

Former two-time UFC champion Conor McGregor may have just announced his return to the UFC by reentering the UFC’s anti-doping testing pool.

The likelihood of a McGregor return seems increasingly possible.

McGregor took to social media to share the news.

“I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder. I am ECSTATIC! I’m in SHAPE,” McGregor wrote on Instagram.

He also shared sneak peaks in his Instagram story. In the first caption, McGregor wrote: “Drug tester on my yacht.”

In the story is what appeared to be a collector with a testing kit.  In the following photo, McGregor then wrote: “Blood from the shoulder.”

In the third photo McGregor is shown holding up a urine sample that was collected, captioning the photo, “I piss excellence.”

McGregor’s last outing in the octagon was in July 2021 in UFC 264, suffering a loss and a broken leg to Dustin Poirier in the closing seconds of the first round.

McGregor has teased a comeback for years, but nothing ever became of the announcements.

“I’ve got two fights under contract (with the UFC). I’m in negotiations. Last week something happened to me. I went to the White House and my heart bleeds for my country right now. So, there’s a lot of stuff going on back home,” McGregor said during the BKFC 70 Post-Fight Press Conference.

McGregor continued, “I’m happy with what I’ve done. There’s something else for me that’s in my gut right now, so that’s kind of where I’m going. Greatness doesn’t rush, also. Greatness does not rush.”

McGregor’s last victory came in 2020 with a win over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone technical knockout in just 40 seconds.
