Medic's Finish Streak In Focus For UFC Belgrade

Uros Medic will attempt to extend his knockout streak when he meets Daniel Rodriguez in Saturday's UFC Belgrade main event at Belgrade Arena.

Medic enters the bout having stopped Geoff Neal in 79 seconds, Muslim Salikhov in 63 seconds, and Gilbert Urbina in 63 seconds across his last three appearances, per MMA Mania. The Serbian welterweight has finished all 13 of his professional wins — 11 by knockout — though he has also suffered fast losses to Punahele Soriano (31 seconds) and Myktybek Orolbai.

Rodriguez Returns After Mexican Jail Stint

Rodriguez has not competed in over a year, during which time he served a stint in a Mexican jail. The 39-year-old holds a 10-4 UFC record and most recently defeated Kevin Holland by decision in a bout where both men were badly hurt. Rodriguez typically wins by volume striking rather than power, with his recent TKO of Santiago Ponzinibbio coming against an opponent on a steep decline.

Medic owns the highest knockdown rate in the welterweight division and lands his significant strikes at 60 percent accuracy, according to MMA Mania's breakdown. Rodriguez has absorbed just one knockout loss in his career — a head kick from Ian Machado-Garry — and could look to extend the fight past the opening round. The co-main event features Jan Blachowicz against short-notice replacement Navajo Stirling, with Marcin Tybura and Aleksandar Rakic also on the card.
