After losing his belt to Merab Dvalishvili, UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley seems to be going through the five stages of grief out of order. He started with depression, saying on social media that he was entering an emotional phase.
Now, he’s entered the denial stage. After watching his fight against Dvalishvili at UFC 306 back, he made a video claiming he won rounds one, three, and five, giving him the victory over the Georgian grappler. He even proclaims that he’ll be defending his belt against Umar Nurmagomedov, the current No. 2 bantamweight contender.
Dvalishvili took the claims from the former bantamweight title holder like the champ he now is. The Machine took O’Malley’s video and added his own ending, posting the hilarious result on X with the caption “It’s hard to be a dad these days."

The video cuts away from O’Malley’s rant to show Dvalishvili driving a Hyundai SUV. He then acts out running into a car, getting out of his own vehicle to discover O’Malley — in reality, a pillow with his face on it — in an electric toy Lamborghini. Dvalishvili, with his belt on his shoulder, proceeds to give the O’Malley stand-in a patronizing lecture:
“Listen, son, don’t worry about this Umar Nurmagomedov,” he says in the video. “I will take care of Umar. You’re not a champion anymore.”
The two fighters then drive off in opposite directions, Dvalishvili in his SUV and “O’Malley” in his toy car. While the production isn’t exactly up to Hollywood standards, it gets the point across well. O’Malley’s reaction to his demise is, sadly, childish and unhinged.
Hopefully, Suga can find his sweet spot again. If he does, the potential rematch against his Georgian nemesis will be must-see TV.
