MMA stars and fans believe that whatever happened with Tom Aspinall was very unfortunate. Ciryl Gane accidentally eye-poked Aspinall at UFC 322, and since then, he has been out of action. However, six months later, UFC veteran Michael Bisping raised questions about the English fighter’s injury.
Bisping noted that Aspinall recently revealed he still hasn’t been cleared by doctors to fight. Additionally, the UFC veteran believed that the heavyweight champion has been unusually vague about the details of his recovery. During his recent talk on the Believe You Me Podcast, the 47-year-old said:
“I had that surgery, recovered, came back and had a fight in a shorter amount of time than what it’s taken this whole eye poke saga.” He also said, “As a guy, I know Tom. We used to have a close relationship, we don’t talk these days.”

Bisping pointed out that he underwent surgery and returned to competition in a shorter timeframe than Aspinall’s current layoff. Meanwhile, many believe that boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is stopping the heavyweight champion from fighting.
Tom Aspinall is sidelined due to an eye injury, and recently, Michael Bisping questioned his recovery update, also saying it shouldn’t take this long. Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn called out Michael Bisping as a “company man” over his comments on Aspinall’s eye injury. In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow, he said:
“Michael Bisping is totally and utterly a company man. He’s on the payroll. He should have more respect for Tom Aspinall. Me and Michael Bisping should have a live debate about Tom Aspinall and the UFC.”

Hearn and Dana White are rivals, and the heavyweight champion signed an advisory deal with the boxing promoter. The Matchroom Boxing promoter also mentioned that he will not let Aspinall fight until he gets a new contract with higher pay.
