Michael Chandler Wants The BMF Title

Michael Chandler is betting on himself to be part of the UFC’s historic White House event. He’s not losing sleep over who ends up across the octagon from him. Despite a tough run of results. Michael Chandler believes his resume as one of the promotion’s most reliable action fighters will secure him a slot on the June 14 card.

Chandler (23-10 MMA, 2-5 UFC) has been eager to get back into competition. Chasing the kind of marquee matchup that has defined much of his UFC tenure. While he’s currently on a three-fight skid. Those losses came against elite opposition Dustin Poirier, Charles Oliveira, and Paddy Pimblett doing little to dull his reputation for delivering must-watch fights.

Watching the BMF Picture

At UFC 326, Max Holloway is set to face Oliveira with the BMF title on the line. Which Chandler is paying close attention.

“I got my eye on that one, because I think Max gets the win,” Chandler told MMA Junkie while speaking on behalf of Phorm Energy. “I think Oliveira is coming off a pretty devastating knockout and turned around real quick jumped into another training camp, I got my eyes set on that BMF belt if Max wins, so we’ll see.”

If Holloway emerges victorious, Chandler sees an opening for a high-profile matchup against a name he hasn’t yet shared the cage with.

Given Chandler’s fan-friendly style, a matchup with nearly anyone in the lightweight top 15 is plausible. One recent callout came from Dan Hooker, whom Chandler stopped by TKO in his UFC debut five years ago. Hooker is coming off a TKO loss to Benoît Saint Denis at UFC 325. But Chandler isn’t dismissing the possibility of a rematch.
