The event’s success was fueled by an action-packed main card that featured several high-profile finishes.
Highlights included:
Remarkably, the entire main card reportedly featured only about 22 minutes of total cage time during a 3.5-hour broadcast.
In their statement, Paul and Bidarian made it clear this may only be the beginning for MVP MMA. “We’ve received an overwhelming amount of interest from investors, strategic partners, and fighters who want to be involved with MVP and the future of MVP MMA.”
The promotion added that it is now reviewing “all strategic options” moving forward alongside Netflix.
The strong debut immediately positions MVP MMA as a legitimate player in combat sports especially as tensions between MVP figures and the UFC continue escalating publicly.
Before the event, Rousey publicly said she hoped the card would surpass nine million viewers on Netflix. Instead, the event significantly exceeded that mark and helped produce one of the largest audiences in MMA history. For MVP, Netflix and everyone involved, the debut appears to have surpassed nearly every expectation imaginable.
