The upcoming lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier has kept everyone on their toes. The lightweight champion remains a stern favorite to win the bout. While Makhachev is the clear favorite to win the fight, former champion Jamahal Hill has a different opinion.

Jamahal Hill was recently asked by MMA reporter James Lynch to pick the winner between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier. The former light heavyweight champion did not hesitate to pick the winner. According to Hill, regardless of the odds, Poirier can pull out a shocker.

Going into the fight, Dustin Poirier has made some critical revelations, including his potential retirement from the sport. The fighter is well aware that this might be the last opportunity to win the title. As Hill mentioned, the ‘Diamond’ can knock out anybody, and that’s exactly the plan for the Louisiana native for the Makhachev fight.

In the past, Dustin Poirier has lost twice in UFC lightweight title fights, and the fighter would definitely like to have different results. However, with Khabib Nurmagomedov coaching Makhachev, things are looking slim for the challenger. Many professional fighters have mixed opinions on the fight. As such, only the result will prove who was right and who was wrong.
