New UFC Champion Goes Viral On Dana White's Instagram

Dana White’s belt wrapping videos have become quite trend in the UFC, and on social media. Oftentimes, the videos are very telling. Fans tend read the UFC president’s body language and facial expressions which often times, seem to be telling of what he thinks or how he may feel about result of the championship bout. So far in 2025, the latest new UFC champion has stolen the show on Dana White’s instagram page.

Dana’s most recent belt wrapping video was on Magomed Ankalaev, who became the newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion with a controversial win over Alex Pereira, ending his 482 day reign.

For this particular belt wrapping video, White let out a slight smirk as Dagestan’s third UFC champion’s name was called. Sometimes we’ve seen Dana look less than thrilled when fighters are announced as winners. When he shows any type of facial expression fans and media have a field day with it, but this time there isn’t any obvious expression here. All we have is the slight smile and normal champion belt wrapping, followed by Dana letting Ankalaev and his team celebrate and enjoy their win; not too much to see here.

In just two days, the Magomed Ankalaev belt wrapping video has accumulated over 1.5 million likes, 50.4 comments, and 258k shares, all of which is the most from a belt wrapping video on Dana White's Instagram page so far this year. This makes sense, judging from the fact that it was produced from the defeat of one of the biggest stars in the UFC. It's early in the year, so maybe this can be dethroned later on in 2025.
