UFC Vegas 123 lands at the Meta Apex on Oct. 31 with a main card built on bounce-back fights and rising contenders testing themselves against veteran opposition.
The main event sees Tom Nolan face Renato Moicano, but the undercard features three competitive matchups that could settle divisional positions. Andrew Richardson of MMA Mania broke down each bout with predictions ahead of Saturday's card.
Jacobe Smith enters as a minus-220 favourite over Randy Brown in the co-main event. The undefeated wrestler carries a 12-0 record into his toughest assignment to date. Smith has made his name on explosive takedowns and mat violence but faces a significant height and reach disadvantage against Brown. The veteran brings 22 UFC fights worth of experience and a sharp jab that could exploit Smith's occasional lapses between athletic bursts. Richardson questions whether Smith's style translates against seasoned opponents who survive the early storm, yet doubts Brown's durability at 35. He predicts Smith connects before the second round.
At bantamweight, Yana Santos opens as a plus-180 underdog against Luana Santos despite both women riding three-fight win streaks. The younger Santos brings jiu-jitsu and judo credentials, while Yana has built a Top 10 tenure on clinch work and physicality. Richardson expects a grinding fight in tight quarters, with Yana wearing down her opponent over 15 minutes. The flyweight clash between Ode Osbourne and Cody Durden carries minus-130 and minus-102 lines respectively. Durden's wrestling should trouble Osbourne, though his cardio remains suspect. Richardson called it a "low-trust fight" between two inconsistent talents but leaned toward Durden surviving shaky moments to control enough canvas time for a decision.
First bell is set for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
