Paddy Pimblett appears to confirm Benoit Saint-Denis fight on card slated for Conor McGregor’s comeback

Paddy Pimblett’s latest hint about his upcoming fight all but gives away that he is taking on Benoit Saint-Denis.

After competing for the interim lightweight title back in January, Pimblett is beginning his ascent back up the division at UFC 329 on July 11. The main event of the card is still being slated as Conor McGregor’s return, with Max Holloway currently in the running as a potential opponent.

It has been speculated that the co-main event will feature Pimblett against Saint-Denis, with the latter teasing such a matchup earlier this month. Now, the Brit has hit back with a fairly on-the-nose tease of his own after revealing multiple times that he will be fighting on July 11.

Paddy Pimblett teases Benoit Saint-Denis fight with most obvious hint yet

After Benoit Saint-Denis made it clear that he would be facing a British fighter next, Paddy Pimblett has been dropping subtle hints. He trained with southpaws in a recent post, insisting that it was perfect preparation for his next opponent, but his latest stunt is a bit more clear.

In his new YouTube video, Pimblett begins training camp with coaches noting that he is around 12 weeks out from his next fight. And at the very end, he jokes that he will allow the UFC to announce his next opponent and won’t ruin the surprise.

However, he does so while wearing a beret, with a necklace of garlic and eating a baguette. This all seems to very clearly imply a French opponent, and there is only one fighter in the top 10 at lightweight who matches that description.

Pimblett is coming off his first loss under the UFC banner against Justin Gaethje, after being steadily built for the best part of half a decade en route to a shot at the gold. And he is refusing to start punching down, now taking a fight where he is the underdog for the first time in the octagon.
