Paddy Pimblett’s pal was on the wrong end of a viral knockout in front of Dana White.

Chasen Blair’s first Contender Series appearance ended with a body shot stoppage defeat in October 2024.

One win and almost one full year later, Paddy Pimblett‘s American teammate was given another chance to impress MMA’s most powerful man.

In the end, it was his opponent, Samuel Sanches, who got offered a contract by the UFC boss.

Dana White raves about Contender Series KO

Samuel Sanches needed just over two minutes to earn his place in MMA’s premier promotion.

‘The Prodigy’ exploded out of a grappling exchange against the fence into a nine-punch combination.

Chasen Blair dropped to the floor unconscious when the seventh shot connected with his temple.

Sanches landed two more punches as he fell to the floor and triggered a wild reaction from the crowd.

When a camera panned to Dana White, he could be seen calling the knockout ‘crazy’.

The UFC CEO made it clear how wild he found the finish when announcing Sanches will join his roster.

This is one of the craziest knockouts I’ve ever seen,” White told Laura Sanko.

“The way he got hit. The way he fell. It was an unbelievable combination he hit him with.

“This guy is 11-1, [with] seven first-round finishes, and what is even more incredible is that he’s only 22 years old.

“I have very high hopes for you. Welcome to the UFC.”

Paddy Pimblett’s next fight

Paddy Pimblett brutalized Michael Chandler to win the biggest fight of his career by third-round TKO at UFC 314 in April.

‘The Baddy’ got into the cage to confront Ilia Topuira after he became the lightweight champion at UFC 317 in June.

Since then, Pimblett has been campaigning to leapfrog the likes of Justin Gaethje and Arman Tsarukyan.

The powers that be are yet to announce when, where, or against whom Topuria will defend his 155lb title.

Still, Pimblett recently began preparing for his latest fight camp with the pound-for-pound number one on his mind.

Pimblett compared himself to Khamzat Chimaev as he revealed training changes he’s implemented.

“I’ve got to get that striking timing better if I’m fighting El Chorizo (Ilia Topuria). That’s a lot of what I’m going to work on,” he said.

“My grappling always feels phenomenal. When I get people on the floor, they don’t get up, like Khamzat against DDP (Dricus du Plessis).”
