Padilla Calls Out Miller After UFC Sacramento Win

Chris Padilla used his post-fight interview to target a childhood hero for his next fight.

The lightweight submitted Nasrat Haqparast with an arm-triangle choke late in the third round at UFC Sacramento on Saturday, pushing his UFC record to 5-0-1. He told Heidi Androl afterward that he wants Jim Miller, the promotion's all-time wins leader, according to Sherdog.

"I need Jim Miller, man," Padilla said in the Octagon. "You know, it's a veteran, man. He's been in the game for a really long time. I watched him growing up as a little maggot. So, I just want that, you know what I'm saying? I want fights that are going to give me that little tingle."

Miller debuted in the UFC in 2008 and owns 28 victories inside the Octagon, more than any fighter in company history. The 42-year-old submitted Jared Gordon in May and has stated he wants to reach 50 UFC appearances before retiring. He currently sits at 47.

Padilla closed his callout by declaring that a new generation is rising in the lightweight division. Whether Miller accepts remains to be seen, but the matchup would pit an unbeaten UFC prospect against one of the sport's most durable veterans.
