Patchy Mix defended himself following a wild update regarding his career.

The former Bellator bantamweight champion has had a very difficult start to life in the UFC.

A former UFC champion recently claimed that Mix was battling various issues ahead of his recent split decision loss to Jakub Wiklacz at UFC 320.

The 32-year-old has now suffered back-to-back losses inside the Octagon following his exciting signing to the UFC.

On Thursday, October 23, it looked like things had gone from bad to worse for Mix following a positive drug test report.

Patchy Mix’s 2024 win not overturned following ‘ludicrous’ confusion

On October 23, MMA database Tapology announced that the FMMAF, the French Mixed Martial Arts Federation, had notified them about a failed drug test.

The FMAAF announced that due to Patchy Mix failing a test, his split decision win over Magomed Magomedov in Paris in May of 2024 would be overturned to a loss.

While some argued that Mix deserved to win his recent outing at UFC 320, this would put him on a three-fight losing streak.

This latest update appeared to be just another setback for Mix following his disappointing results inside the Octagon in 2025.

However, MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin reported shortly after the news, after speaking with the Mohegan Tribe’s Department of Athletic Regulation director Mike Mazzulli, that the win wouldn’t be overturned.

Mazzulli described it as “the most ludicrous thing” he’s ever seen, revealing that Mix tested positive for marijuana but only on the test that was done by the FMMAF.

Mix passed the drug test that was done by the Mohegan Tribe’s Department of Athletic Commission, with Mazzulli stating that despite sending this result over to the FMAAF weeks after the event, he never heard back from them.

Patchy Mix responds after his win over Magomed Magomedov isn’t overturned

When the news broke that Patchy Mix’s win over Magomed Magomedov would be being overturned to a loss, the former Bellator star looked to clear his name.

He posted to say that he had tested positive for marijuana and not a performance-enhancing drug before it was reported that his last win wouldn’t be overturned to a loss.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mix responded to the latest update.

“Don’t let them confuse you. I ain’t a f—— PED cheat and I worked my a– off to be where I’m at. We ain’t done.”

“The road looks rocky after some losses, even non-existent at times, but a kid like me from Angola, raised by my adopted mother of four off food stamps and no car can make it through the storm,” Mix continued. “I know we all can. Stay with me please as these next moments will be iconic.”
